Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and The Digital Path Ltd, trading as distillr. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What the service does

distillr helps you turn business updates into written posts, talking head scripts and shot lists, generated by AI in a writing voice built from samples you provide. Features change as the product develops. We may add, alter or withdraw functionality, and we will not remove something you are actively paying for without telling you first.

The service produces AI-generated drafts. You are responsible for reading, editing and deciding whether to publish anything it writes. We do not check output for accuracy, originality or suitability, and you should not treat it as legal, financial or professional advice.

2. Your account

You sign in with a link sent to your email address. There is no password. Anyone with access to your inbox can therefore access your account, so keep it secure and tell us at cam@cam-james.com if you think someone else has got in. You must be at least 18 and you are responsible for everything done through your account.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a 7-day free trial including 200 credits. No payment details are required to start it. When the trial ends, generation stops until you subscribe. Everything you created during the trial stays in your account, and stays readable and editable.

Trials are limited to one per person. Fair use limits apply during the trial so that a single account cannot run up unlimited AI costs; if you hit one, the service will tell you.

4. Subscription, billing and cancellation

A subscription costs $24 per month and includes 300 credits each month. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you live. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price you signed up at, until you cancel. Your credit allowance resets at each renewal and unused credits do not roll over.

You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your account, or by emailing cam@cam-james.com. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and after that your content remains readable and editable while generation stops.

5. Refunds

The free trial is how you evaluate the service before paying, so payments are not routinely refunded. Renewal payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

As a consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract. Because the service is made available immediately when you subscribe, by subscribing you ask us to start providing it straight away and acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right once we have done so. This does not affect any other rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including your right to a service carried out with reasonable care and skill.

If something has genuinely gone wrong, email cam@cam-james.com and we will sort it out.

6. Your content stays yours

You own everything you put into the service and everything it generates for you: your business updates, your writing samples, your stories, your drafts, scripts and shot lists. We claim no ownership of any of it.

You give us permission to process your content only so far as we need to in order to run the service for you. That means storing it, showing it back to you, and sending the relevant parts to our AI provider to generate what you asked for. Nothing else.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider does not train on it either. We do not publish it, sell it, share it with other users, or use it in marketing without asking you first and getting a clear yes.

7. Credits and fair use

Generating content spends credits. Different actions cost different amounts, shown in the app before you run them. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and expire at the end of each billing period.

Some features are not charged in credits but still cost us money to run, so they carry fair use limits. These exist to stop extreme use rather than to restrict normal use, and you will be told when one applies.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to generate content that harasses, defames or impersonates someone, to infringe anyone's intellectual property, or to attack, overload or reverse engineer the service. Do not resell access or share your account with others. Do not use automated means to extract data from the service.

You are responsible for having the right to use any writing samples or material you paste in.

9. Our intellectual property

The service itself, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us. Using it does not give you any rights in it beyond those set out here.

10. Availability

We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. It depends on third parties, including our hosting, database and AI providers, and may be unavailable during maintenance or because of a failure outside our control. AI generation can fail or produce poor output; when a generation fails, credits are not charged.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right, and we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your content unless the law prevents it.

12. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on AI-generated output, or for anything you choose to publish.

You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email you before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel before it applies. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer law that applies where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
